PUBLIC CHOICE AWARD
This year's mandatory coffee has emerged from an exciting collaboration with Sucafina. A word from them on their coffee choice:
“The Koerintji Barokah Bersama Cooperative is redefining Indonesian coffee with diverse processing methods. This Fully Washed lot stands out with juicy berry and citrus notes, challenging expectations of Indonesian coffee.
Farming on the fertile slopes of Mount Kerinci, a volcano in Sumatra’s Pacific Ring of Fire, cooperative members benefit from rich soil. Led by Pak Triyono, they process and roast their own coffees in a fully equipped facility with an on-site cupping lab. We’ve partnered with them for six years, pre-financing their harvests.
We chose this coffee for its ability to evolve with small roast adjustments, making it an exciting challenge for roasters, but also for its environmental and social impact. It supports a project that transforms coffee pulp into organic fertilizer, enriching soil, improving yields, and increasing farmer incomes. As Indonesia’s coffee industry grows, we’re excited to share its potential.”

The Sourced Coffee is the roaster’s chance to demonstrate their sourcing networks, philosophy, and style. A huge part of the final taste of roasted coffee comes from the raw ingredient, so roasters are invited to source their own coffee for this category in accordance with our criteria.
This year, we’re highlighting ‘classic washed’ coffees, celebrating the clean, bright profiles that defined the early Nordic specialty coffee scene.
Our 2025 sourcing criteria:
The coffee may originate from any of the following countries: Rwanda, Burundi, Peru, Honduras, or Colombia.
Price: Max. 20 USD/kg all in for the green coffee inc. delivery to the roastery door.
Processing method: Washed*
*De-pulped or mechanically washed within 24 hours from picking. The coffee may not undergo intentional fermentation prior or after de-pulping. No ingredients/additives other than water may be added at any stage throughout the process from picking to the final green coffee product ready for export.
